Dutch watches, built to last
- Designed and built in the Netherlands
- Timeless design (fashionable now, in 10 years time, in 100 years time)
- Accurate time reading in a wink of an eye?
- Technology for eternity; maintenance possible from now until as long as there are screwdrivers – and a drop of oil!

Indestructible, reliable and maintenance-free?
These requirements combined are difficult to obtain. However, with the design of the Flying Dutchman we aim to approach these goals as closely as possible:

kastSTAINLESS STEEL CASE
Stainless steel case (SS 316L surgical steel) with screwdown case back, unaffected by water and most common chemicals. Scratches can be polished away if necessary. If the case gets dirty the strap can be taken off for easy cleaning.

SAPPHIRE CRYSTALS
Seriously tough material, scratching it is virtually impossible. Only diamonds can cause scratches, so watch out with wedding rings!

UNIQUE DESIGN FEATURE
Pellikaan timing is the only watch brand that uses luminous classic hands! The use of luminous paint Superluminova enables reading the watch in the dark. Altough this is really quite practical it is never done on the classic breguet style hands. Using this paint on breguet hands is definitely not easy and requires extra skills and patience, probably a reason why it is never done!

uurwerkSWISS MOVEMENT
Very strong Swiss ETA movement. Pellikaan timing uses movents by ETA or with an ETA base caliber. ETA is part of the SWATCH group that produces the movements of most brands in this group and also of many other brands. Together, this accounts for 70% of all top brands. For the hand-wound watches the ETA 6498-1 non-modified, with central seconds complication and with the Dutch modification with a 3/4 bridge and swanneck micrometer adjustment is used. This very same caliber is used in, for example, the Omega Railmaster, Panerai OPI, OPII, OPIX, Dirk Dornbluet, Bell & Ross BR 01-92, Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 1, and many others. For the automatics the ETA 2892A2 is used. This is the top automatic of ETA and is considered by many to be on par with the in-house Rolex movements with regards to accuracy and reliability. Although the ETA is less sensitive to wear on the automatic mechanism due to the ball bearing used and the more elegant suspension of the oscillating weight. For a thorough discussion of this movement please read this! This movement you will typically find in watches of Cartier (Pasha), Breitling (Colt) and many other high-end brands.
