Werkzijde horloge
Als uurwerk wordt een elaboree uitvoering gebruikt. Naast de cotes de geneve is ook perlage op de platine en de ankerbrug toegepast. Het afregelen gaat bij deze uitvoering zeer goed, de gangresultaten top!

Is dit horloge ook te koop?
Ja, het zit echter in een andere prijsklasse dan eerder gebruikelijk. Informeer hierover bij de maker.

Is het echt goud?
Ja, het is 750 18Kt rose goud. Het is massief, de gesp is ook van dit materiaal. De band is custom luisiana alligator.

Zijn er opties?
ja er zijn opties, voordeel van hogere kosten is dat opties van custom wijzerplaten, of een van de reeds ontworpen wijzerplaten die nog confidentieel zijn ook allemaal mogelijk zijn. Mijn eis is dat het resultaat erg mooi moet zijn.
Is hij dan snel klaar?
Dat helaas niet, het maken van de kast neemt enkele maanden. Het realiseren van een nieuwe wijzerplaat duurt ook even. Wel kun je op deze manier iets heel speciaals maken.

On his wrist there is competition of the whitegold Daytona limited edition 2010 he received after the World cup matches.

Michel turns out to be a really nice guy with a lot of interest and opinions on watches. We both agree that daytonas and other typical mens watches look desperately cool on our beloved ladies….

Door samenwerking met FC-Utrecht bij de FC4U benefiet veiling in 2010 is het idee ontstaan om een speciale versie van de Flying Dutchman te maken voor FC-Utrecht.

Deze is klaar! Het eerste exemplaar  (1/25) is als afscheidskado door het personeel van de club aan oud voorzitter Jan Willem van Dop gegeven. Serienummer 2/25 is op de FC4U veiling voor 4000 euro naar zijn nieuwe eigenaar gegaan. Dat is 4000 euro voor het goede doel!

Het speciale van het horloge is dat het met de sportieve NATO band echt heel sportief is, en met een leren band ook weer gewoon een heel mooi horloge. De speciale kenmerken zijn het extra rode streepje bij 12 uur, seconden subdial in de vorm van het wapen van Utrecht, en de text ” Dutch made for FC-Utrecht” heel klein onderaan de wijzerplaat.

Hubert Pellikaan ontwerpt en bouwt in Utrecht mechanische horloges van hoge kwaliteit.

Finally I have made the watch prototype of the PT2 CS Tradition! It always takes longer for all parts to be finished, but here it is:

The PT2 CS (central seconds) “tradition”. Powered by a 6497-1 with the central seconds complication. Also with a screwed glucydur balance as well as swan neck micrometer adjustment. All like it was done traditionally in the days when a watch did not have a sweep seconds hand. It happened that for WWII fighter/bomber use it was really handy to have a long, luminous, seconds hand. But since the modern (pre 1950’s modern) watch movements did not have the (nowadays normal) gear layout that makes a  central seconds hand simple, it was devised by many manufacturers to add an extra bridge and gears to the movements at hand to add this functionality: IWC, A. Lange & Söhne, Laco, Wempe and STOWA.

So here is this workhorse movement driving a very long seconds hand in 0,2 seconds steps around the dial that also has 0,2 sec increments on its outer ring.

Watching it go round is hypnotising…..

Lets tell something about the NATO strap:

- NATO stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization, so yes it is actually a military type strap.

- NATO straps go through both lugs so you don’t lose the watch when one push pin comes out. If yuo think this never happens, just ask someone who does competition sailing. These sailing waters are seeded with high grade watches. Especially contact with the boats rigging does a great job. Personally I broke out one pin when exercising eskimo turns.

- NATO straps go slightly weird through both lugs indeed. Here is a video that shows mounting a NATO strap onto a Rolex submariner.

- NATO straps are remarkably strong. I personally tested the strength of the black version I deliver with all watches. It does hold over 85 kgs (my weight), which means I could stay hanging on my watch strap. All that happened was a slightly bent clasp pin and less nice looking pin hole, no breaks, tears etc.

- There are very many colors available for NATO straps. Pellikaan timing can supply the following colours:
